There are 4 main areas where we intend to take you for climbing:

-Lao Shan
-Fu Shan
-Yi Shan (depending on the season, available from December to February for ice climbing)
-Qingdao’s beach boulder

-Lao Shan
These are the largest mountains where you can climb in Qingdao, and it is also called the Holy Mountain. The highest peak of Laoshan Mountain is 1133 meters. For a nice hike to the top, the summit can be reached by three routes.

Lao Shan mountain is called the Holy Mountain because there are a lot of Taoist temples. Laoshan is located to the east of Qingdao, you just need one hour by bus. to get there. At Laoshan Mountain you can find a really good base for climbing. But you also can create new routes since the mountain has a huge potential. All Qingdao climbers wish that a lot of climbers from all over the world will come to Qingdao and help to develop the climbing area. The environment is excellent and it’s always worth doing a trip to Laoshan. Here you can find an overview of the important climibing areas- and don’t forget your drill to make new routes. 

- Fu Shan
Fu Shan, Qingdao’s back yard, is easily accessible and provides hikers with splendid 360° panoramic views of Qingdao. Fu Shan is full of natural springs that many locals tout as the “fountain of life.” It is the natural climing area from Qingdao, the mountain is located dircetly in the city. You can reach Fushan by public transport. During the climb you get a great view of Qingdao's skyscrapers, the sea and of course the Olympic sailing center. In Fushan there are also a lot of small blocks, so that a lot of people just change the rope and harness to crahspads.

- Yi Shan
During the winter period Qingdao offers a great possibility for ice climbing, the Yi Shan mountain. It is reached by a 3 hours car drive from Qingdao. You'll find iced waterfalls there, the highest one being 150m.

Until now only a small group conducted by Wen Xian and Jun Hai has climbed the peak. Ice climbing in Shandong Province is a very new form of climbing. Therefore we have included all special equipment that is needed for ice climbing in the price.

- Bouldering at Qingdao’s beaches
There are many beautiful sand beaches in Qingdao where you can boulder and take a refreshing swim afterwards. In Qingdao has 5 beaches, which all have special names. But this is not so easy, since there are beach number one, two, three and six and a beach which is called “Shi Lao Ren”.

Especially beach number two is fantastic choice for bouldering. The beach is located in the marvellous “Badaguan”. In this part of Qingdao one can find a lot of old mansions which built in the thirties. They habe different architectural styles, so you can see architecture from all over the world. Good examples are the “Huashi” and the “Gongzhu”- mansion. Thus, after bouldering you should definately do a trip to this famous part of Qingdao.

During the hot summer, it is very comfortable to have a swim after the bouldering. From June to August you have to pay a small admission (30 cent).

The other beaches also offer bouldering opportunities. The best one is located in the east part of Qingdao, nearby the “Shilaoren-beach”. The Qingdao climbing association arranges a lot of boulder matches at this place.
